SUMMER FUN at WILD DUNES



Every year my mom, her girls and all of the kids take a week long vacation to the beach. We always come home with tons of memories, sun burned skin and suitcases that won't close. ;) Truth be known, usually a good  fight or two between the kids. The kids can always recount and reenact each one from year to year. 

 This year our trip was to the Isle of Palms at the Wild Dunes Resort. It was fabulous in every way. Really, you never have to leave the resort. There is some time of different entertainment each night and it's usually very kid friendly. The kids karaoke night was a blast. On Friday and Saturday, there is usually dancing outside by the beach. I taught my kids how to shag when they were itsey bitsey so it was neat for them to see it in action. I never realized growing up that the shag was an original South Carolina dance. I thought everyone in the world knew how to shag.

 It was fun watching all the teenagers remove the patio furniture and turn the back deck into their very own dance floor, so they could practice with no one watching. 

You are also a short fifteen minute drive to downtown Charleston. 

What a great week...
